Summer licenses have begun and most will use their car to go to their destinations. Before a driver decides to leave for a vacation in his car, he has to do basic checks to determine the safety and reliability of his vehicle.

The best thing is to go to a workshop, not only for some control, but also to repair any damage. But if he has finished his service a few months ago, then he should check simple things just before he left for a vacation.

The first thing he has to do is control the level and quality of the oil. If the change is approaching, it is preferable to do it before the holidays. It should also see the coolant level and supplement if needed. This will help the engine not overheat.

It should be confirmed that the brakes are in good shape and no strange sounds are heard. If that happens, then the pads are most likely to change.

The tires are probably the most important part of the car needed control. Worn and old tires do not offer the required security. So if they are not in good condition they should be changed. The driver always has to control their pressure and put as much pressure as the manufacturer suggests. At the same time, it should be checked for damage or tears, and so should the spare, which should be in very good condition so that it can be used in case of need.

The lights, flash and brake lights should work properly, and if there is a burned lamp it should be replaced as soon as possible. Driving at night is difficult and the driver needs to have good visibility.

The battery is a part of the car to be tested. There are some signs that show that the battery wants change. Difficult start in the morning is a key sign, while fluctuating the voltage of lights is another. Also, if it is over four years, then there is a great chance that the car does not start. However, a visual control for oxidation on the poles will show whether the battery wants a change.

Wipers should be in good condition, and there should be sufficient washing fluid. On the other hand, air conditioning must function properly. If it does not have a good performance then a service should be done.

In the car we should always have a triangle, vest, pharmacy and fire extinguisher (mandatory), and it is advisable to have a spare or repair kit, jack, drilling, starting cables and a bottle of water. An important note is that heavy things get low and the lighter higher to have a low center of gravity, and when we are loaded we do not develop high speeds.

Finally, the driver should have all the car documents in full force, and it is advisable to have the insurance policy and to provide road aid.
