“No” in the release of the broker, who, along with the jeweler of Gladstone Street, were sentenced to temporary imprisonment for the deadly blows to Jacques Costopoulos, on the afternoon of September 21, 2018, decided for the third time.
The 65 -year -old broker applied for suspension of the sentence, citing serious problems, financial and health, members of his family.
His application, however, which he has filed within one year was rejected by the court with a similar prosecution proposal that he ruled that he did not deduce his detention.
According to broker lawyer Yiannis Glykas, his client is a man who has been “wronged” while both he and his family “have been destroyed because he went to help his neighbor”. Mr Glykas spoke of “peculiar hostage”, while the applicant himself told the court, crying that he was unjustly in prison. For the broker’s application he filed a relative who said that only the convict can help his family and should be released therefore. The witness described the broker as a “synonym of the altruist” and stressed that he is “innocent”.
A broker and jeweler were unanimously sentenced last July by the Mixed Circuit Court of Appeal for the felony of the deadly bodily harm for what happened in public views at the expense of Jacques Kostopoulos.
By the secondary court ruling, the broker was sentenced to six years in prison, while the 81 -year -old jeweler at five years in prison. The court had ordered a home to the jeweler due to age and imprisonment of the broker.
To date, the broker has served 13 months, after being sentenced to 10 years in prison in 2022, he was taken to prison for about two months when he was released on restrictive terms and remained out of prison until the secondary decision.
