Intense reaction and dissatisfaction with lawyers’ behaviors to judges who are not in line with their function, express its members Association of Judges and Prosecutors.
In a statement, they point out that the ongoing absence of an institutional framework facing the extreme and unacceptable behaviors of some lawyers creates serious problems in the functioning of justice. ‘TDystic behaviors not only expose the lawyers themselves but also undermine the prestige of the entire lawyer“
Recent cases in the courts of Athens and Piraeus have demonstrated the need for immediate action. Unacceptable attacks on presidential judges, delays in cases of cases, as well as risks to the security of judicial officers, are now phenomena that require immediate treatment.
We call on the healthy majority of lawyers to publicly isolate these extreme behaviors and help protect the prestige of their function. At the same time, we are addressing the state to adopt legislative initiatives that will ensure euphoria and security within and outside the courts.
Our union has already submitted specific proposals and is in constant dialogue with the competent authorities to prevent the spread of these phenomena and to ensure the smooth and respected administration of justice.
The announcement
“It is now clear that the absence of an institutional framework for settlement of the extreme behavior of a particular portion of the lawyers, exposing themselves and the entire Bar, creates new imitators. Why behaviors corresponding to those we have already applied to no. 277/23.06.2025 our letter to the Minister and the Deputy Minister of Justice, found their mirror in what was incredible for a European state held a few days ago at a one -member Criminal Court meeting in the Athens Criminal Court.
In particular, a well -known lawyer, he called for his case to be proposed by all others, claiming extremely disgusting to his presidency, that he was allegedly provoking his view as chairing. She then attacked her with offensive comments on an earlier case she had tried, then claimed that she had previously photographed the head of the headquarters to drink coffee in a cafeteria, and in his opinion it was forbidden, and when his colleagues were disproportionate to his deprivation. He protected him as a supposedly owed and put forward at the expense of the derogatory request for exemption, which, after a short break that took place to be examined in his legal and substantive merits, recalled.
The above is an epigraphic imprint of the daily lives of hundreds of judges and have their cause of the bravery and sense of impunity, which the lack of adequate institutional frameworks, in order to protect the seriousness of the trial, the political and the criminal, from them.
We call on the healthy majority of the Bar Bar, to publicly separate its position from such behaviors and to take appropriate action in order to isolate the action of those colleagues, who do not have a sense of personal boundaries and are a defamation for the lawyer.
We are first and foremost calling on the state to take responsibility with brave initiatives in the legislative framework, listening to the proposals that our union has testified, so that the phenomenon can stop finding new mimics, which have an interest in delaying the proceedings of the cases and to delay the procedure.
Already at a meeting held with the participation of the Deputy Minister of Justice, the Union and Representatives of the Bar Associations, we had been in a timely manner that these decadent phenomena would find imitators and we pointed out the need to resolve the issue of the legislative intervention of the law.
Finally, yesterday’s incredible incident that took place at Courts of Piraeus, during which a judicial officer on his way out of the building was detained by a group that had gathered outside the court and was found unattended and exposed to a serious risk of his physical integrity, shows that the maintenance of a climate of dismantling in the courtrooms, and is accompanied. The state will wait for the victims to be held for the serious security gaps in and outside the courts.; “
