Thessaloniki: The trial of the teacher accused of sexually harassing his student in September

by

The trial of the 67-year-old teacher, who was reported in the middle of the month by a 17-year-old high school student for sexual harassment, will take place in a regular trial scheduled for next September.

The case was scheduled to be heard today by the Three-Member Misdemeanor Court of Thessaloniki, with the spontaneous procedure, but the Court decided to postpone it, because the minor in the testimony she gave to the Charilaou-Analipsos police station was not examined by a child psychologist, which is procedural.

Under these circumstances, the judges decided to re-examine, this time in the presence of a child psychologist, something that is expected to happen in the next period, at the Sub-Directorate for the Protection of Minors in Thessaloniki. At the same time, it was decided that two teachers would testify as witnesses.

The juvenile complainant was found today in the room of the Criminal Court, accompanied by legal assistants who requested that the case be examined in camera, a request that was accepted.

It is recalled that the criminal prosecution against the accused teacher (he has already been released and is on sick leave away from his educational duties) concerns the acts of insulting the sexual dignity and abuse of a minor. In fact, according to the case file, these acts were carried out continuously.

He allegedly denied the allegations, stressing that he did not know the complainant for life and that he had a student last year when the lessons were conducted online.
