The Board of Directors of the Renault Group, which met under the chairmanship of Jean-Dominique Senard, decided to appoint François Provost as Managing Director of Renault SA and president of Renault SAS, with effect from 31 July, for a four-year term. At the same time, François Provost was appointed a member of the Board of Directors of Renault SA and Renault SAS

Until recent head of the Group’s Supply, Partnerships and Public Relations Division, François Provost has a 23 year long experience in the Renault Group. With a powerful international profile, experience in both business and strategic roles, as well as deep knowledge of industry challenges, François Provost has all the guarantees to continue and accelerate the Group’s development course. In addition, its qualifications guarantee the continuation of the Group’s strategic development, especially internationally, the strengthening of partnerships, the utilization of the flexibility strategy and the maintenance of high performance standards, with full respect for the company’s values.

At the end of the Board of Directors’ meeting, Jean-Dominique Senard said:

François Provost – Short CV

François Provost was born in 1968 and is a graduate of the École Polytechnique, and bears the title of the top engineer of the French State Corps des Mines. He began his professional career in the public sector, in senior administrative positions, before joining the Renault Group in 2002.

Since then, he has served in a series of executive positions in France and in various European countries, including as CEO of Renault-Nissan Portugal (2005–2008). In 2010, his career received an international status, first taking the position of Renault Russia’s deputy chief executive, and then the position of President and Managing Director of Renault Samsung Motors in Korea, a position he held for five years.

Leading roles followed as Chief Operating Officer for China and then for the Asia-Pacific region, before taking office in the head of the Group’s international development sector. In 2023 he joined the Renault Group’s Supreme Administrative Team as head of the Supplies, Partnership and Public Affairs Sector.

From Lisbon to Seoul, via Moscow and Shanghai, François Provost evolved into a strategic and experienced leader, playing a decisive role in the conclusion of important international partnerships with world groups such as Nissan, Geely and Aramco.
