Morning work, with the participation of representatives of large Greek businesses, had Minister of Development Takis Theodorikakos and the Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources of Saudi Arabia Bandar Ibrahim Alkhorayef, confirming the common will for further deepening of the Greece – Saudi Arabia Strategic Relations. The meeting was also attended by Secretary General. Private Investment, Stellina Siarapi and Secretary General Industry, Lefteris Cretan.

At the center of discussions were found the prospects for further cooperation and attraction In the areas of energy, shipbuilding, agri -food, pharmaceuticals, construction and raw materials, as well as the possibilities of exploiting the significant investment interest that is mutually developed in the context of the new productive standard for Greece in 2030 and “Vision of 2030(Saudi Vision 2030), of development plan of Saudi Arabia for the transformation of the economy.

Mr. Theodorikakos stated after the end of the meeting: “The visit of the Minister of Industry of Saudi Arabia contributes substantially to the further strengthening of strong and creative relations between the two countries – relations that are strategic and dynamic perspective. Our today’s meeting with representatives from the largest Greek companies in all the basic sectors of the Greek economy highlights our major common interests and the very important opportunities to further develop mutual investment and to increase our trade, which already amounts to € 1.9 billion. It is a great challenge, and at the same time a great opportunity for Greece and Saudi Arabia to boost even more in the basic sectors of the economy – in energy, agri -food, pharmaceutical industry, construction and shipbuilding industry – for the benefit of growth and employment in both countries. ”
