After completing the licensing process, the process of certifying the Curricula by the NTUA, in accordance with the law, will immediately begin.
The Minister of Education, Religions & Sports Mrs. Sofia Zacharakis, made the following statement:
“We are completing a historic step, for the benefit of the younger generations of our country. The National Higher Education Authority (NTUA), within its institutional role, approved the applications, which meet the strict conditions set by law. All applications come from well -known universities abroad, and their addition to the Greek academic map has only positive to offer.
Greek society now has maturity, experience and knowledge in order to understand exactly what has been lost for decades and how the country can turn into a strategic advantage into a regional training hub. We give the opportunity to higher education in Greece, to keep up with international trends, enhance extroversion and provide more choices to our young people.
Above all, however, the government and the leadership of the ASA, puts the support of the public university as the highest priority. Opposite to those who reproduce stereotypes, distort reality and invest in fixation and stagnation, we respond with data: increasing regular funding, historically high in enhancing student care, new feeding projects, housing, equipment and research, upgraded problems.
Works, and not words, also count in the field of public education. Our government is confronted daily with its highest responsibility for the self -evident, young people and the future of our country. “
The Deputy Minister of Education, Mr. Nikos Papaioannou, responsible for Higher Education issues, said:
“With the completion of the licensing process of the Legal Entities of University Education (NPE) in our country, Greece is turning a page in Higher Education. It is a historical reform, which gives our young people more opportunities, more choices and more paths of excellence.
The licensing process has been completely transparent, documented and rigorous, as defined by the institutional framework.
The New Democracy government and personally Kyriakos Mitsotakis, resulting in pre -election pre -election commitment, paved the way for the creation of a richer and more competitive academic map. We aim for Greece to become a node of knowledge and university education in Southeast Europe, attracting students and scientists from around the world.
At the same time, we continue to support the public university in practice, with new faculty of faculty members, with funding, upgrading infrastructure. Because we deeply believe that education is the most powerful tool of development and social cohesion.
For decades, the country has remained bound, resulting in thousands of young people seeking opportunities for study abroad, spending resources and talent that could stay here. We break these seals and enable every young person to study in an internationally competitive environment without having to leave his home country.
Our educational policy is part of a broader strategy for the next day in the country, as it does not mean a strong economy without a strong education system. There is no national progress without open paths of knowledge and innovation.
Greece is moving forward with a plan and vision and higher education is at the forefront of this course – with more options for students, with more opportunities for society, with more power for the country. “
