At its premises Directorate of Environment and Spatial Planning Central Macedonia (DIPHO-KM) of the Decentralized Administration of Macedonia-Thrace, a delegation was welcomed by the Environmental Inspector of Northern Macedonia. Visit is part of the European Twinning program, which has a title “Strengthening the Capacities for Enforcement of the Environmental Legislation” and concerns the enhancement of the implementation of environmental legislation.

The event was attended by the secretary of ADMTH, Dr. Dimitrios Galamatiswho, by addressing a greeting, stressed the importance of transnational cooperation for the effective implementation of environmental policies, but also to ensure it sustainable development in the wider area.

Presentation of administrative structure and good practices

During the meeting, Greece’s administrative structure was presented in the field of environment, along with the role and basic responsibilities of ADMTH and DIPHO-KM. Special reference was made to the standardization of procedures From the duplicity-KM, an important good practice aimed at enhancing the transparencyher efficiency and her efficiency in public administration.

Followed by a presentation of her Technical Audit Management (DTE), where the work and priorities of the Service were exposed, with participants having the opportunity to exchange views and experiences on the implementation of environmental legislation and the possible future cooperation.

Strengthening Greece – Northern Macedonia Institutional Cooperation

As highlighted in a relative announcement of the Decentralized Administration, this action is yet another substantive step in strengthening the institutional cooperation Greece and Northern Macedonia. At the same time, the role of ADMT and the duplicity-KM is decisively highlighted in Promotion of European Environmental Policy and in shaping a modern and efficient public administration.
