At gov.gr the publication of a copy of the book of crimes and events

With the ability to request and receive electronically through gov.gra copy of the book of crimes and incidents the citizens, the digitization of the services of the Greek Police continues.

The implementation will take effect today, following a Joint Ministerial Decision signed by the Ministers of Citizen Protection Takis Theodorikakos and State and Digital Government Kyriakos Pierrakakis.

The application for a copy is made in a very simple way, through the section “Citizen and daily life” and the subsection “Complaints”.

In particular, the citizen is connected through the codes Taxisnet or with the web banking codes and submits the application electronically to the Police Department where the crime or incident was recorded. Upon completion of the processing, the copy is sent electronically to the citizen’s mailbox, who is simultaneously notified by SMS and email to locate and save or print the document via my.gov.gr.The copy incorporates all security features ( QR Code, Security Code, Advanced Electronic Stamp) and can be provided for any legal use.

All the data of the citizen for submitting an application for a copy of the book of crimes and events are automatically obtained from the Interoperability Center.

In addition, the electronic mailboxes provided to the services of the Hellenic Police ensure the immediacy, accuracy and transparency of the entire process, as citizens will be able to follow the progress of their request step by step, from billing to processing. without having a physical presence at the relevant Police Department.

The design and development of the service was done by the Hellenic Police, the National Network of Technology and Research Infrastructures (EDYTE SA – GRNET), the General Secretariat for Digital Governance and Simplification of Procedures and the General Secretariat for Information Systems of Public Administration.

The publication of a copy of the book of crimes and incidents is added to the joint actions planned and implemented by the Ministries of Digital Governance and Citizen Protection for the digitization of services of the Greek Police. It is reminded that the following services have preceded and are already provided digitally through gov.gr:

• statement of loss of identity
• renewal of the moped registration certificate
• creating an identity card and storing it in our mobile wallet for certificate checks in accordance with the measures to limit the spread of COVID-19

Significant benefits are also being achieved by the digital delivery of criminal trial documents that will take effect from the new judicial year, freeing the 1,500 police officers who were in charge of this task and are now returning to their physical duties.

Furthermore, a significant reduction of the bureaucratic burden of the Greek Police is achieved through the digital issuance of authorizations and responsible statements, but also through the digitization of services for driving licenses in collaboration with the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport, namely:

• renewal of driving license
• replacement of driving license with new type
• issue a copy of driving license due to damage, theft or loss
