Opinion – Marcelo Katsuki: Abundance Gastronomy takes place at Instituto Inhotim, in MG

by

The first Fartura Gastronomia of 2022 will take place at the Inhotim Institute, in Brumadinho (MG). The event will take place on April 29th and 30th and May 1st and will discuss the internationalization of Brazilian gastronomy. According to Carolina Daher, one of the project’s curators, the idea is “to bring together big names to discuss the extent to which we Brazilians can take our culture, our food outside of Brazil, without losing our origins.”

Five gastronomic ambassadors, one from each region of the country, will participate in the conversations: Morena Leite, Janaina Rueda, Manu Buffara, Saulo Jennings and Paulo Machado. The debates will take place at Espaço Igrejinha and will be mediated by Claude Troisgros.

In addition to the Igrejinha, there will be spaces such as Cozinha ao Vivo, where it will be possible to follow the preparation of dishes by the chefs and taste them; Mercearia Fartura, with producers from Minas Gerais presenting cheeses, jellies, sausages, liqueurs, breads, spices and other local products. The Institute’s Tamboril and Oiticica restaurants will have desserts signed by the participating chefs, while the Brumadinho restaurants will welcome guest cooks such as Juliana Duarte, Flávio Trombino, Caio Soter. All animated by DJs and also lots of live music. The event takes place from 10 am to 5 pm and is open to the public, with access to Inhotim and subject to capacity.
