Emergency preliminary examination for homicide by negligence ordered the Arta Public Prosecutor’s Officeon the occasion of the death of a 28 -year -old pregnant woman at the city hospital, after an anaphylactic shock suffered during antibiotic. Hospital administration ordered an affidavit administrative examination while President of POEDIN, Michalis Giannakosrequested an investigation to comply with protocols.

The 28 -year -old’s family denounces mistakes in managing the incidentabsence of a doctor during admission and administration of antibiotics with telephone instructions.

The woman had taken the same medicine a few months ago, without an allergic reaction.

The family’s lawyer Mr. Stamatia Markou, filed reports of reports demanding the body’s exhumation in order to make a necropsy – necrotomy and toxicological tests.

According to Mrs. Markou, they have been “Criminal omissions of the hospital medical and nursing staff”. He argues that only nursing staff and a specialist were present at the hospital reception. He described those involved in the incident “inexperienced and unexplained”, and also turned against the Hospital Administration, saying that they did not demand a necropsy – necrotomy.

According to her, the order to grant the antibiotic was given to the nurse because there was no doctor. He also argued that nursing staff ignored the family’s appeals to deteriorate the 28 -year -old situation. Finally, he said that it was not certain that the allergic reaction was caused by the antibiotic, describing the death certificate lacking.
