An extremely rare creation of the 1987 Lamborghini LM002 – known as its iconic nickname, “Rambo Lambo” – recently sold for $ 400,000 at a auction of the Bring A Trailer.
As one of the only 301 cars built in this luxury car, it embodies Lamborghini’s bold vision for the 1980s, combining the power of a rugged, military capacity.
Initially the LM002 was launched as a military vehicle (Rambo-lambo). In the late 1970s, the American MIT commissioned Lamborghini designing an off-road model, the project failed but the Italian automaker returned in 1981 and presented the model at the Brussels Motor Show in 1986.
Underneath its asymmetrical hood is a huge 5.2 -liter V12 engine with four -cylinder camshafts, borrowed from the legendary Lamborghini Countach. With six powerful Weber carburetors, the V12 delivers 455 hp and four wheels through a five -speed manual transmission.
The exterior, with its aluminum corner four -door bodywork, has a finish in elegant silver and inside, the cabin offers a stunning luxury contrast with a sophisticated beige leather lining.
