With Election of new metropolitans Konitsis and Corinth and five assistant bishops ended today’s third regular session Holy Synod of the Church of Greece.
More specifically, according to the announcement issued:
Today, Thursday, October 9, 2025, in its third regular session, the Holy Synod of the Hierarchy of the Church of Greece, chaired by the Archbishop of Athens and all Greece, Mr. Ieronymos, in the Hall of the Holy Synod.
After the prayer, the list of participating hierarchs was read and quorum was found.
Subsequently, there was a discussion on yesterday’s recommendation by His Eminence Metropolitan Nikolaou, on the subject: “Artificial Intelligence: The Church in the face of emerging new anthropology”.
The minutes of yesterday’s session were then ratified.
The vote on the way the vacant metropolitan Dryinopolis, Pogoniani and Konitsis, Pogoniani and Konitsis, then began began.
Out of a total of 77 votes, the proposal for election received 67 votes and the proposal by 10 votes. Therefore, the Hierarchy ruled in favor of the filled with the Holy Metropolis by election.
Then came the process of filing the Holy Metropolis of Dryinopolis, Pogoniani and Konitsis for election.
For the preparation of the tripod of a total of 77 votes they received:
1) Bishop of Stavropigi Mr. Alexios, 59 votes
2) Archimandrite Mr. Spyridon Katramados, 34 votes
3) Archimandrite Mr. Nikolaos Liolios, 21 votes.
There was also 1 white vote.
On the second voting, and by sorting the votes, Metropolitan of Dryinopolis, Pogoniani and Konitsis was highlighted by the Bishop of Stavropigi, Mr. Alexios with 63 votes, out of a total of 77 votes, Archimandrite K. 3 white votes were also found.
Then the vote began to fill the vacant Corinthian Metropolitan C and way.
Out of a total of 77 votes, the proposal for election received 67 votes and the proposal by 10 votes. Therefore, the Hierarchy ruled in favor of the filled with the Holy Metropolis by election.
The process of filing the Holy Metropolis of Corinth was followed by an election.
For the preparation of the tripod of a total of 77 votes they received:
1) Bishop of Thespian Mr Pavlos, 64 votes
2) Bishop of Kengreon Mr. Agapios, 55 votes
3) Archimandrite Mr. Artemios Argyropoulos, 19 votes.
Bishop Paul Pavlos, Bishop of Thespian, with 59 votes, out of a total of 77 votes, was highlighted on the second voting, while the Bishop of Kenchreon Mr. Agapios received 18 votes.
Subsequently, the vote began to fill the position of Assistant Bishop rather than the Archbishop of Athens and all Greece from the position of the Archbishop, under the title of the Old Skiathos Diocese, in accordance with the Sacred Rules and the provisions of Article 15 of Law 2817/2000.
Suggested candidates by His Beatitude Archbishop of Athens and All Greece, Mr. Ieronymos, were the Archimandrites of the Archimandrites a) Mr. Ioannis Karamouzis, b) Mr. Irinarchos Theodoros and c) Mr. Eleftherios Stavrakis.
Archimandrite Ioannis Karamouzis was elected bishop with the title of the old one -long bishop of Skiathos.
Subsequently, the body of the hierarchy made the election of the following assistant bishops:
1) The Assistant Bishop despite the Holy Archdiocese of Athens under the title of the old never -by -bishopric Christmas.
Suggested candidates by His Beatitude Archbishop of Athens and All Greece, Mr. Ieronymos, were the Archimandrites: a) K. Varnavas Theocharis, b) K. Parthenios Amanatidis and c) K. Prokopios.
Archimandrite Mr. Varnavas Theocharis was elected bishop with the title of the old.
2) The Assistant Bishop despite the Holy Metropolis of Veria, Naoussa and Campania under the title of the old Diocese of Domenikos.
Suggested candidates by His Eminence Metropolitan of Veria, Naoussa and Campania, Mr. Panteleimonos, were the Archimandrites: a) Mr. Athinagoras Birdas, b) K. Dimitrios Baklagis and c) K.
Archimandrite Athinagoras Birdas was elected bishop with the title of the old.
3) The Assistant Bishop despite the Holy Archdiocese of Athens under the title of the old never -have bishop Epidaurus.
Suggested candidates by His Beatitude Archbishop of Athens and All Greece, Mr. Ieronymos, were the Pan -Hellenic Archimandrite: a) Mr. Nikodimos Farmakis, b) Mr. Titos Garefalakis and c) K. Gavri.
Archimandrite Nikodimos Farmakis was elected bishop with the title of the old Old Epidaurus Diocese of Epidaurus.
4) The Assistant Bishop despite the Holy Archdiocese of Athens under the title of the old never -have bishopric of talented.
Suggested candidates by His Beatitude Archbishop of Athens and All Greece, Mr. Hieronymos, were the Archimandrites: a) Mr. Theologos Alexandrakis, b) K. Maximos Matthaiou and c) K.
Archimandrite Mr. Theologos Alexandrakis was elected bishop with the title of the old Old Talented Diocese.
At the end of the meeting, the small message of the newly elected Metropolitan and Assistant Bishops in the Hall of the Hierarchy of the Hierarchy was followed.
