THE Minister of Immigration and Asylum, Mr. Notis Mitarakispaid a visit to Attica Regional Asylum Office, in the presence of the General Secretary of Immigration Policy, Mr. Patroklou Georgiadis.
It is pointed out that the process of providing temporary protection to displaced persons from Ukraine from the PGA of Athens, Thessaloniki, Patras and Crete.
During his visit, Mr. Mitarakis was informed by the employees of the Attica PGA about the smooth development of the process, as well as talked with Ukrainian beneficiaries of temporary protection.
At the end of the visit, he made the following statement:
“Greece immediately activated the temporary protection regime for the displaced Ukrainians. We digitally recorded all the applications and started yesterday the issuance, in one visit, identity, TIN and AMKA. In the first two days we have satisfied more than 10% of the total We provide the displaced Ukrainians with a safe haven. However, speaking to them, their wish is that they return to their homeland soon. We hope the same, but until that happens, Greece will host them with the dignity that our authorities impose it on us. ”
