With the testimonies of the Kozani officials who were injured by the attack of the perpetrator with the ax in July 2020, the trial at the Mixed Circuit Court of Appeal of Western Macedonia began today.
The employee who lost one eye from the hit of the perpetrator described in detail the entire scene with the serious injury of her colleague who left his last breath a few months later in a Thessaloniki hospital and how the perpetrator then attacked the face.
Her colleague, who was severely injured in the head and back from the strokes, described the struggle preceded by the perpetrator until the DOU’s boss, who initially fought with him and then with the help of two other people, managed to stop him. The DIAS police officers who first arrived at the site also arrested the perpetrator and drove him to the police station.
The court has been interrupted due to a period of hours and will continue on Wednesday, October 15, with the defendant’s apology, the prosecutor’s speech and the attitudes of the lawyers.
The perpetrator has been sentenced first instance to life imprisonment for intentional homicide and an additional 26 years for the offenses of the attempted murder of the two workers who have injured, and for the offenses of weapons and guns.
