Saint Philip the Apostle one of seven deacons

Saint Philip came from Caesarea of Palestine and was a deacon among the seven deacons of the first church in Jerusalem. He was also married and had four daughters, endowed with prophetic charisma.

Philip, however, was not only in Jerusalem. He went to Samaria and preached the Gospel, as a genuine Apostle of Jesus Christ. He taught the faith and awareness of truth, which leads to piety.

There in Samaria, through his preaching he baptized a Christian and Simon the magician. Then Philip met on his way the eunuch of Queen Kandakis, and after he was baptized, he also baptized a Christian. He then went to Tralles of Asia Minor, where with his teaching he persuaded almost all the inhabitants of the city to believe in Christ. Philip in this city, after building a Christian temple, handed his soul to God.
