“If you love your family, be careful on the road.” This message is addressed by the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport to all drivers who will travel these days ahead of October 28, recalling that last year, at the same time, 14 people died on the asphalt.

Responsible driving behavior, as the ministry emphasizes, is not only about her personal safety, but also their lives co-passengers and other road users.

The message citizens received on their mobile phones from the Ministry of Transport

In detail, the ministry’s message – published by the Deputy Minister of Transport, Konstantinos Kyranakisreads as follows:

“Last year, in the corresponding three-day period of October 28, 14 people lost their lives on the asphalt. Our behavior on the road has consequences, not only for our own safety, but also for the lives of other drivers, passengers and pedestrians.

In this year’s four-day period on October 28, Greeks will travel by car, by the thousands, to all regions of the country. We appeal to every driver:

“If you love your family, watch out for the road.”

We remind you that most fatal traffic accidents occur due to:

– Driving under the influence of alcohol.

– Driving at night with fatigue.

– Mobile usage.

– Excessive speed.

– Not using helmets.

– No belt use.

This four days, may we all return safely to our families.

Also, starting today, a brochure on road safety will be distributed to excursionists at the toll booths, while a message will also be sent from telecommunications providers to subscribers.”
