The 40-year-old woman who was severely beaten by her 50-year-old partner on Thursday afternoon (23/10), at their home in Koropi, is still intubated.
The alleged perpetrator initially called the Emergency Response Center, claiming to have found his partner covered in blood inside the home.
He also contacted the owner of the daycare center where their children attend, asking her to pick them up later.
According to ERT, the woman described that when she entered the house, everything looked clean, with no signs of a commotion, except for “a lot of blood”.
Officers who arrived at the scene immediately realized what had happened, as the couple’s 4-year-old son reportedly told officers that “daddy hit mommy.”
The 40-year-old woman was taken by ambulance to the Red Cross Hospital, where she is intubated in the ICU with serious head injuries. The two minor children were taken to the Children’s Hospital, until it is temporarily decided who will take care of them.
According to witnesses, three days before the incident, the 50-year-old had locked his partner out of the house together with the one child. Neighbors say the woman seemed upset but refused to talk about what was happening.
The defendant already has one previous arrest for domestic violence, in 2023, against the same woman.
