Another defendant was remanded in custody for his case OKAYwho is attributed the role of one of the vice-leaders of the criminal organization.

During his apology, the 38-year-old, who is an employee at a Declaration Reception Center in Crete, denied the accusations and maintained that he was following all legal procedures, as his job was to submit the declarations to the system.

The alleged leader of the criminal organization and his wife are expected to apologize to the European investigator, while his father, also accused, felt unwell and was taken to hospital by ambulance.

The remands for the OPEKEPE case have reached 9 so far.

As reported earlier by skai.grtwo more defendants who are allegedly involved in the case of illegal subsidies from OPEKEPE are being sent to prison.

These are two other brothers who, according to the indictment, cultivated cotton and declared false information in order to receive subsidies.

Earlier on Sunday, two more defendants were remanded in custody.

“We deny the charges. The truth is that we were told that as new farmers we can get a legal subsidy and we followed the procedures they indicated. We didn’t think it was a scam”they reportedly claimed in their apologies.

According to the indictment drawn up against them, the two cultivated cotton and declared false information about plots of land in order to illegally receive European subsidies.

The last group out of a total of 37 defendants is expected to plead on Monday.
