The five defendants for the bloody episode that occurred on the afternoon of October 28 in Perea were released with restrictive conditions, after their apology to the 1st regular investigator of Thessaloniki. Among the accused is the 20-year-old who was stabbed and is still being treated at “Agios Dimitrios”, where an investigator and a prosecutor went earlier to receive his statement.

According to the case file, personal differences are hidden “behind” the episode, while information indicates that it is for reasons of romantic jealousy. According to the same information, there was another episode about 14 months ago. Regarding the incident a few days ago, it all started when a group of people attacked a 47-year-old and his 26-year-old nephew (the latter two are of Albanian origin) with sticks and bats. In the course of the incident, the 47-year-old attacked the 20-year-old and another young man, 21, with a knife, injuring the former in the liver and spleen.

The investigations of the Thermaikos Department of Prosecution and Investigation of Crimes led to the arrest of five people for participating in the fight. On the one hand, it is about four young people (Greeks, aged 18 to 21) and on the other hand, the 47-year-old. They were prosecuted for criminal affray, dangerous bodily harm, carrying a weapon – use of a weapon and additionally the 47-year-old for attempted murder.

As for the 47-year-old who is charged with attempted murder, in his plea he reportedly claimed he was in self-defense because of the blows he and his nephew were receiving.

The investigator and the prosecutor decided to release all of them under restrictive conditions, and in particular with an appearance twice a month at a police station and a ban on approaching either side at a distance of less than 100 meters.
