Trial of Zak Costopoulos: The owner of the jewelry store and the broker are guilty, the Prosecutor proposes

The guilt of jewelry store owner and his broker who had been charged with his death Jacques Costopoulossuggested o prosecutor of the Joint Jury Sotiris Bougioukos. According to the prosecutor’s proposal both should be found guilty of offense of fatal bodily harm which is a felony.

On the contrary, the prosecutor suggested that they be acquitted the four police officers who were also facing charges for the death of Zak Costopoulos that happened in a jewelry store in the center of Athens, where the victim had entered and received severe beatings from the first two defendants.

Evaluating all the elements of the case file, the prosecutor pointed out that the two defendants acted punitively and based on the forensic findings, he concluded that their own severe blows are causally associated with ischemic lesions that activated a mechanism in the victim and led to his death. And throughout the prosecution’s speech were present in court parents of Jacques Costopoulos and the mother of the murdered Pavlos Fyssas, Magda. The trial will continue on Monday with speeches by lawyers of the victim’s family.
