The stores will be open on Palm Sunday, April 17, 2022, as part of the festive schedule in anticipation of Easter.
The commercial stores, according to the schedule proposed by the commercial associations, will operate from 11 in the morning until 6 in the afternoon, while department stores and chain stores, according to the schedule proposed by the Hellenic Business and Retail Association (SELPE) , will be open until 8 pm.
The schedule of Holy Week
For Holy Week, according to the schedule proposed to its members by the Athens Chamber of Commerce, the opening hours will be 9 am to 9 pm, from Holy Monday to Maundy Thursday, while on Good Friday the shops are proposed to operate from 1 noon to 7 pm and on Holy Saturday from 9 am to 3 pm. The same schedule is proposed by the Thessaloniki Chamber of Commerce with a small difference in terms of the schedule of Holy Saturday which is proposed to be from 9 in the morning until 4 in the afternoon.
For the big stores, the department stores and the chain stores, the Association of Businesses and Retail Sales of Greece (SELPE) announced that the opening hours from Holy Monday to Holy Thursday will be 9 in the morning with 9 in the evening, for Good Friday it will be from at 1 pm to 9 pm and on Holy Saturday from 9 am to 8 pm.
It is reminded that on Easter Sunday and Monday 25 April the shops are not open. The proposed opening hours of the butchers of Athens and Attica for the Easter holidays were published by the Association of Retailers and Butchers of Athens – Attica “The Taxiarches”.
According to the announcement, the butchers will be open during the holidays during the following hours:
- Sunday 17/4/2022: CLOSED
- M. Monday 18/4/2022: 8:00 – 18:00
- M. Tuesday 19/4/2022: 8:00 – 20:30
- M. Wednesday 20/4/2022: 8:00 – 20:30
- M. Thursday 21/4/2022: 8:00 – 20:30
- M. Friday 22/4/2022: 13:00 – 18:00
- Holy Saturday 23/4/2022: 8:00 – 17:00
- Easter Sunday 24/4/2022: CLOSED
- Easter Monday 25/4/2022: CLOSED
- Easter Tuesday 26/4/2022: CLOSED
