The end of the abstention with a unilateral decision only of the President of the Notarial Association of Athens, Piraeus and Islands, Georgios Rouskas does not produce results, as stated in their announcement by the six minority councilors in the Board of Directors.

“The” end “of the abstention of notaries without any decision of the institutions of the body, was announced yesterday with an announcement by the President of SSEAPAD, George Rouskas.
The notaries of Athens, Piraeus and Islands on April 4, 2022 had decided to abstain from transfer contracts until May 4, 2022, claiming the disengagement of the notaries from the process of issuing the TAP (Fee for Real Estate) and the maintenance of the optional in the Land Registry until the resolution of a number of serious problems in this process.
Nevertheless, Georgios Rouskas, under the pretext of voting for an amendment that partially satisfied the notaries’ requests regarding the TAP, announced the end of the abstention with an unprecedented decision in legal and trade union times. And it did so without convening either the Board of Directors or the General Assembly of members, the only competent body to take such a decision.
This unimaginable action of Georgios Rouskas, apart from its institutional weight, although it has no power, nor does it produce legal effects, creates an unprecedented confusion among notaries and citizens with all that this may entail.
Notaries, as legal scholars, remain committed to the morally and legally self-evident and therefore refuse to follow the illegal decision of Georgios Rouskas and continue to abstain from their duties regarding the transfer contracts until May 4. 2022.
