“Danger bell” sounded scientists as according to a new study the ice in the Antarctic Sea is at an all-time low and has shrunk below 772,000 square miles (2 million kilometers).
Arctic ice has been melting faster and faster for years as a result of global warming.
The shrinking of Arctic sea ice affects marine ecosystems and ocean circulation and can potentially impact weather events.

According to the Daily Mail, on February 25, sea levels in Bellingshausen, the Amundsen Sea and the Weddell Sea reached a record low, about 30% below the 1981-2010 average.
Using data from the National Snow and Ice Data Center, researchers at Sun Yat-sen University began investigating why this happened.
Their analysis proved that in summer, thermodynamics dominate the processes that cause the melting of sea ice.
Unfortunately, there are still many questions as to why these phenomena cause such intense melting of sea ice.
The study comes shortly after research revealed that global sea levels could rise up to 10 feet (3 meters) if the Thwaites Glacier in West Antarctica collapsed.
