The President of the Republic will celebrate Easter with the Akrites of Thrace Katerina Sakellaropoulou which from Holy Thursday until Easter Sunday will tour the prefectures of Evros, Rodopi and Xanthi.
During her four-day tour she will visit military units, villages, where refugees from the coasts of Asia Minor settled, as this year is the 100th anniversary of the Asia Minor Catastrophe, she will attend the Holy Passion, the Apostasy and the Epitaph Sequences and the local customs. He will also visit Museums, Cultural Associations, Social Cooperative Enterprise, Open Elderly Care Unit, school and in the village squares he will have meetings with residents.
Ms. Sakellaropoulou will start her tour from the area of Trigonos, in Northern Evroswhich borders Turkey and Bulgaria and will continue in the prefectures of Rodopi and Xanthi.
On the night of Holy Saturday, the President of the Republic will attend the Resurrection Liturgy at the Cathedral of God Wisdom in Xanthi.
On Easter Sunday morning she will exchange wishes with officers, non-commissioned officers and hoplites at the headquarters of the XXV Armored Brigade in Petrochori, Xanthi, while then she will visit her place of origin, Stavroupoli.
The President of the Republic has already visited three times Thrace.
