In strengthening mobile emergency response teams (street work), with more than double, trained staff, proceeded Municipality of Athens to provide on-site care but also to motivate the homeless, to join some of them modern structures which have been made in the last 2.5 years for their support and reintegration.
In total twenty people from different specialties (doctors, social workers, psychologists, nurses, guides, administrators, scientific manager and coordinator) are included in the existing street work groups, which perform a pioneering work for the Greek data.

From the first months of 2021 until March 2022, the street work teams of the Support and Solidarity Center of the Municipality of Athens have carried out more than 12,000 on-site interventions. In hundreds of cases, the homeless were motivated to contact the social services and special structures of the Municipality of Athens.
During the pandemic, the Municipality of Athens created and put into operation the Multipurpose Homeless Center a modern 24-hour operation structure, with capacity to accommodate 400 homeless people. Capacity that fully covers the number of registered homeless in the city. The Mighty has Dormitory, Guesthouse and Day Center and the beneficiaries are provided in addition to accommodation, food, medical care and psychological support. In the same protection net of the vulnerable category of the homeless joined new hostel which was created especially for drug addicts living on the streets.
