The Prime Minister thanked the leadership of the ministry for the very important, as he said, work that has been done in recent months. “2022 will be the first summer in three years without restrictions”, Mr. Mitsotakis noted, emphasizing that the goal is to have the best possible tourist season and to extend it to all seasons. Especially for the summer months, he said that “we hope that the long summer of 2022 will be extremely profitable for entrepreneurs and employees”.
At the same time, Mr. Mitsotakis sent a message to the tourism entrepreneurs that the employees should participate in the development dynamics of the sector not only with better salaries, but also with strict observance of the labor legislation. “We will be very strict”clarified that while announcements will be made soon for the expansion of social tourism programs “so that the people who are facing the greatest difficulties due to the imported crisis, can take vacations with the support of the state in a transparent and fast way”
For his part, Tourism Minister Vassilis Kikilias said the government had met all the challenges of recent years, something that strengthened the country’s brand, brought greater flow of visitors and boosted the economy. “We are working hard and we will make a fund at the end of the season,” he added.
