Mônica Bergamo: Brazilian olive oil is elected one of the 10 best in the world by a Spanish contest

by

The Spanish competition Evooleum selected the Brazilian Sabiá olive oil, produced in Santo Antônio do Pinhal (SP) and Encruzilhada do Sul (RS), as one of the ten best in the world in its this year’s edition.

The label is the only Brazilian among the ten best placed. It tops the rankings with four Italian, four Spanish and one Croatian extra virgin olive oil.

Last year, Sabiá was awarded the best olive oil in the southern hemisphere by the Italian Leone d’Oro 2021 contest. The product also received a gold medal in a contest in New York.

The Evooleum award has been organized for 20 years by the Spanish publisher Mercacei and the Spanish Association of Olive Grove Municipalities (Aemo). Its annual guide, with versions in English and Spanish, brings together the 100 best extra virgin olive oils in the world.
