Two arrests for attempted damage to the offices of ND in Glyfada – Statement by Theodorikakou

They were arrested on the spot, in the early morning hours today, at the offices of New Democracy in Glyfadaby police officers of the Security Sub-Directorate of Southeast Attica, two people aged 38 and 43, the former accused of attempting to damage foreign property and the latter of complicity in the commission of a criminal act.

According to ELAS, the two defendants, after approaching the offices of ND, surveyed the area for the existence of security cameras. Immediately after, the 38-year-old with a spray, tried to write slogans on the wall of the offices, while the 43-year-old remained opposite, observing the space.

Their movements were noticed by police officers of the Security Sub-Directorate of Southeast Attica, who immediately intervened and immobilized them. During a check carried out on them, they were found in possession of both spray bottles. At the same time, in the car of the 43-year-old, which was parked nearby, were found 4 additional spray bottles – spray, 2 containers that contained paint, a paint brush and a number of feijoans (triplets).

The arrested, with the case file against them, were taken to the Athens Public Prosecutor.

The Minister of Civil Protection, Takis Theodorikakos, in a post on social media, notes the arrest of the two people: “Congratulations to the Greek Police who arrested the two people who tried to cause damage to the offices of New Democracy in Glyfada. Security everywhere, security for all.”
