The three-day official visit of the royal couple of Belgium to Greece, the first after 21 years, began with the laying of a wreath at the Monument of the Unknown Soldier in Syntagma.
King Philip and Queen Mathilde head to the Presidential Palace, where the official welcoming ceremony, the rejection of the National Anthems and the presentation of the delegations will take place. Due to the unfavorable weather conditions, the reception ceremony will take place inside the Presidential Palace and not on Herodes Atticus.
The award ceremony will follow in the Credential Hall, during which the President of the Republic Katerina Sakellaropoulou will present to King Philip and Queen Mathilde of Belgium the Grand Cross of the Order of the Savior and the King of the Hellenic Grand Cross of the Order of Leopold.
At the end of the ceremony, they will go to the first floor hall, where the king and queen will have a private meeting with the President of the Republic Katerina Sakellaropoulou and Mr. Pavlos Kotsonis.
The Belgian royal couple will accompany a large delegation to the Presidential Palace, consisting of senior government officials and ministers, representatives of the Palace, as well as several journalists.
Immediately after the completion of the program at the Presidential Palace, the King and Queen of Belgium will go to the Maximos Palace to meet with Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis and his wife Mareva Grabowski-Mitsotakis.
At 20:00 in the evening, the President of the Republic Katerina Sakellaropoulou will host an official dinner at the Presidential Palace in honor of the Belgian royal couple and the delegation accompanying him on his three-day visit to Greece.
