A São Paulo reference when it comes to gastronomic vocation, for bringing together some of the coolest restaurants and bars in the city, the Pinheiros neighborhood saw the landscape transform into a pandemic.

The region has undergone a wave of closures in recent months, as has occurred throughout São Paulo. During the fight against Covid-19, the neighborhood saw its verticalization process accelerated, which caused many properties to be sold to make way for new buildings.

Among the addresses that bid farewell to the public in the region are houses run by renowned chefs, such as Lilu, by André Mifano, and Boto, by Leo Botto.

But the farewells did not affect the neighborhood’s gastronomic vocation, which gained good news. An example is Kotori, a bar with drinks and skewers that is signed by Thiago Bañares, from Tan Tan. Houses already dear to the public, such as Patties and Nanica, also docked there.

Among the openings, the volume of places with healthier profiles and vegan cuisine draws attention. On Rua dos Pinheiros, for example, businesses were opened such as Salad Bowl, Tasty Salad Shop, Green Kitchen and Naked Coffee.

If the region concentrates consumption trends in São Paulo, it is a sign that we will have more and more options dedicated to the vegetable world.

Below, check out what opened and what closed in Pinheiros during the pandemic months.
