After McPicanha without picanha and Whopper Ribs without rib, see 5 snacks with these meats

by

Chefs say that the recipe for success for having a juicy hamburger is to respect the proportion between the amount of meat and fat, something between 75% and 25%. Following this formula ensures consistency and flavor — so it’s common to mix chuck steak with bacon or flank steak with brisket, which helps maintain the fiber structure.

But yes: it is possible to use picanha or rib meat to make this type of snack.

This week, McDonald’s and Burger King, two of the largest fast food outlets, were at the center of complaints made to the Ministry of Justice, the Procons of São Paulo and Brasília and to Conar precisely because of this. It turned out that McPicanha does not have picanha and that the Whopper Rib is made without rib meat, which meant that the two companies had to tinker with their menus and even rename the snacks.

Both assumed that they used flavoring in the recipe instead of the actual cut of the meat – the Senate even foresees a hearing with the representatives of the brands to explain the cases of false advertising next Thursday (12).

But snacks with these two cuts exist and can be found at other addresses. See below for houses in São Paulo that use real ingredients. Not all hamburgers are made entirely with these meats, but in some cases, they appear mixed with other cuts.
