At an unprecedented general assembly that lasted more than 6 hours, the notaries with a large majority decided to abstain, protesting against the decision of the Land Registry to make the electronic submission of transferable deeds and contracts mandatory from May 30, without resolving legal issues. pending technical issues.

The objections of the notaries for the establishment, as the only way of registration, the electronic one, are formulated because in addition to the unresolved problems, they believe that the security of transactions as well as the possibility of choice of the parties should allow the physical presence of registration. They therefore ask for all issues to be resolved, technically and legally for the registration electronically and for the citizen to be allowed to choose the way he wishes.

A large number of notaries voted in favor of abstaining from today until the resolution of the problems, while the President George Rouskas withdrew his initially submitted proposal with the result that the voted proposal is that of the minority of the Board.

The other notarial associations of other areas (some of which are already far away) are already coordinating with the Association of Athens and it is expected that the abstention announced on 30.5.2022 will be nationwide.

The specific proposals for all the issues presented at the general assembly will be presented to the representatives on Thursday at noon in a meeting that has been set between them and the members of the Board of Athens.
