According to ilialive.gr, the incident happened shortly after Easter, in the Holy Temple of Pyrgos, where the alleged perpetrator knew the swallows and due to his previous tenure there he also had the keys, so that he could move comfortably in any place, while today he serves in another area.
The “servant of God” seems to have known from similar periods in the past, that the fund of the temple at this time of Easter would be full.
Thus, although he no longer had any connection with the specific Holy Temple, having the keys, he also had access to the safe, which he emptied after – according to information from ilialive.gr – he received the amount of 6,300 euros.
The theft was noticed two days later and the officials of the holy temple immediately informed the Metropolitan of Ilia, Mr. German and the Police who were called to locate the perpetrator of the theft.
From the investigation carried out by the staff of the Tower Security Sub-Directorate, it located the perpetrator, confirming his movements by the security cameras in the area.

To investigate the incident, methodical investigations were carried out by the police of the Tower Security Sub-Directorate, resulting in the investigation of the case and the identification of the accused, who was brought to the Tower Security Sub-Directorate.
The man handed over to the police the amount of (3,995) euros, as part of the stolen money, which was confiscated and returned to the pastor of the Holy Temple.
The case file against the accused will be submitted to the Prosecutor of the Court of First Instance of Ilia.
