Not May 17, never! The university police will not enter our schools!
The student associations of Athens denounce the organized plan of the government by utilizing provocative groups, which have nothing to do with our students and our struggles, with the aim of intensifying the repression, slander and attack of the government against the new generation.
This plan unfolds with the unacceptable invasion of the armed police forces in the School of Sciences of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. At a time when classes were being held and thousands of students were on campus, they went so far as to use chemical and flash grenades inside the University’s premises and corridors, arresting and beating students.
It is obvious that this is how the government imagines the “modern, European University”, open to repression and degradation, closed to education, to student care, to the needs of students. As the anti-education policy escalates, with the underfunding of our studies, the business operation of the universities, the devaluation of degrees, the state authoritarianism will intensify in order to silence any voice of resistance.
These unacceptable images are complemented by the CoE decision on the university police and the leaks to speed up its entry into schools, even before the student elections.
They will find us opposite them! The students, strengthening our Student Associations, will “rip” the plans of intensity of repression and dissolution of our studies.
Repression and terrorism have no place in our schools. The police are outside the AUTh and from every university institution.
For a real upgrade of our studies, a degree with value and a job with rights!
