According to EL.AS, A total of seven people were arrested in parallel police operations in the areas of Megara, Salamina and Examilia in Corinth, while another member of the criminal organization has been identified and is wanted.

A case was filed against them for setting up a criminal organization that commits kidnappings and extortions through robbery, distinguished cases of theft and violation of the law on weapons. As verified by the pre-investigation investigation, the accused they had formed a gang targeting people who were reportedly in possession of large sums of money. The defendants then, with their facial features covered, went to their home, and using physical force and the threat of weapons, grabbed them and transported them to another area.

Immediately afterwards, they contacted the family of the abductee, and with threats to his life and physical integrity, they blackmailed him into paying money in order to release him. After reaching an agreement, they told the relatives where they would hand over the money and then released their victim nearby.

At the same time, the gang committed house thefts. The defendants chose their target in isolated places and near main roads, while previously gathering information about the hours of absence of the tenants and the existence of money, gold, shotguns and other valuables.

From police investigations loot, 3 shotguns and mobile phones were found and confiscated in the houses of the accused. 4 “business” cars were also confiscated.

The Hellenic Police investigated 2 cases of kidnapping in Megara and Corinth, as well as 25 cases of theft from houses, in the wider area of ​​Megara.
The arrested were taken to the Athens Public Prosecutor’s Office.
