Panhellenic 2022: The number of admissions announced – 68,394 places in Universities

by

Announced by Ministry of Education the number of students admitted per University School / Department for the academic year 2022-2023.

The total number of students admitted to the Higher Education Institutions, ASPAITE and the Higher Ecclesiastical Academies, for the academic year 2022-2023 amounts to 68,394 (to which will be added those admitted to the Military and Police Schools and the Academies of the Fire Brigade, the Merchant Navy and the Coast Guard).

It is recalled that the number of candidates admitted in 2021 to universities, ASPAITE and AEA amounted to 60,070.

The definition and distribution of the number in the individual Departments took into account the following criteria in order to upgrade the quality of the studies provided:

• The suggestions of the Higher Education Institutions for the number of admissions, in the light of the current institutional framework of transfers.

• The rationalization of the system of distribution of admissions after the application of the Minimum Admission Base.

• The support of studies in Departments of Higher Education Institutions where there are possibilities for further development, but also with care for the remote areas (eg the Democritus University of Thrace, the University of the Aegean, the University of Western Macedonia have a larger share where the places increased).

• The connection of higher education with the labor market in combination with geographical development goals for departments with significant potential for absorption of their graduates.
