The Attica Traffic Police proceeded to arrest 13 people for deprivation of driving license and confirmed 335 violations in checks that were carried out on the three days of 12, 13 and 14 May on the seafront Avenue, Schistou Avenue in Keratsini, Dimokratias Avenue in Perama and Resurrection in Papagou.
According to ELAS The purpose of the inspections was to deal with improvised races, as well as other dangerous violations that lead to road accidents, disrupt traffic safety and the smooth and safe movement of citizens.
In detail, the 335 infringements confirmed concerned:
– 63 for excessive speed
– 33 for driving under the influence of alcohol
– 38 for not using a seat belt
– 30 for not using a protective helmet
– 21 for not supplying an effective muffler
– 24 for use of opaque glass (tinted)
– 9 for demonstration of skills
– 7 because they did not have state license plates
– 5 for indistinguishable state license plate
– 5 for dangerous maneuvers
– 2 for red light violation
– 2 for mobile phone use
– 96 other infringements
In addition, 45 pairs of license plates, 62 vehicle licenses and 73 driving licenses were removed. Finally, 25 vehicles were immobilized.
The inspections carried out were attended by police officers of the Traffic Accident Control and Prevention Teams (OEPTA), as well as of the relevant Traffic Departments
As ELAS points out in its relevant announcement, the controls will continue with the same intensity in other areas of Attica, which present increased and dangerous delinquency.
