Ukraine has deployed on the front lines many of the new US M-777 howitzers it has received, the US embassy in Kyiv announced today, stating that 90 such artillery pieces were to be sent and all but one had been delivered.
These M-777 howitzers are part of the armament that Washington is sending to help Ukraine repel the Russian invasion, which began on February 24. M-777s are considered particularly important due to their long range and accuracy.
The US embassy posted a video of the Ukrainian armed forces depicting Ukrainian soldiers being trained in the use of these cannons.
«M-777 Howitzers in action. “Part of the latest $ 800 million package for the Ukrainian Armed Forces,” the embassy’s Twitter account said.
“The 90 howitzers sent by the United States are now, with the exception of one, in Ukraine, and many are now deployed on the front lines,” he added.
