The third Sunday in November is dedicated to the memory of all those who lost their lives or were seriously injured in traffic accidents. The event was started by the European Federation of Road Traffic Victims (FEVR) and established as “World Day” by a United Nations resolution in 2005.

On this day, we also honor all the invisible heroes of the emergency services, the Traffic Police, as well as the medical staff, who fight daily to deal with the traumatic consequences of road accidents. Adopting the message “Remind-Support-Action”, the Road Safety Institute (IOAS) “Panos Mylonas” participates in this global event with actions that give weight to the most vulnerable age group, children and adolescents, for which injuries in Road accidents are also the leading cause of death.

From November 22-26, IOAS will deliver child seats to selected municipalities, through the “Share the Safety” program. The seats are promoted through the social services of the municipalities to families in need. On Thursday, November 25, the award ceremony of the 4th Panhellenic Student Digital Creation Competition for Road Safety will be screened. The competition was co-organized, as every year, jointly with the Department of Educational Broadcasting and Digital Media of the Ministry of Education and Religions and was supported by the Association of Insurance Companies of Greece (EAEE).
