Uprising in Kalamata: 36-year-old with a hood and a crowbar invaded the courtyard of the Bank of Greece

A 36-year-old man was huddled for 2 hours in the courtyard of the Bank of Greece branch in the center of Kalamata.

According to eleutheriaonline.gr, the man with hitherto unknown motives allegedly broke through with a crowded sliding door leading to the courtyard from Nikitara Street and entered the area in a car.

Initially and for most of the time he had his face covered wearing a hood and wandered around the courtyard holding the crowbar in his hand. With this instrument he occasionally knocked on the railings and shouted incomprehensibly.

From the first moment, strong police forces had surrounded the branch and were first trying to find out exactly what was happening and then to be able to calm him down to get him out. He insisted on his posture and then took off his hood revealing his face.

The incident of course caused a disturbance in the center of Kalamata with dozens of citizens rushing to the surrounding area to see what was happening. Finally shortly after 7:30 p.m. her police officers OPKE Messinia and Security of Kalamata They entered the area and with the use of flash grenades managed to immobilize him and arrest him.

The 36-year-old, who according to information has been treated in the past, has been taken to the Messinia Police Department, while the small vehicle with which he entered the area has also been confiscated.

Earlier, the man was also said to have been involved in an intense incident in Paralia, where he got involved and injured food distributors working in a pizzeria.
