In Attica, the Fire Brigade received a total of 10 calls for water pumping and 7 for cutting down trees, while it also proceeded to release 5 drivers who had been immobilized with their vehicles on Stamatas Avenue. Specifically, according to the Fire Department on Stamata Avenue, at the height of March 25, 5 vehicles were immobilized due to the high water level. Firefighters rushed to the scene to help drivers get out of their vehicles, while a vehicle remains at the scene in case it needs to intervene.
Regarding the calls for water pumping and cutting of trees, these were made from the areas of Moschato, Lykovrisi, Nea Ionia, Filothei, Dionysos, Agia Paraskevi and Chaidari. The Fire Brigade also received 3 calls for water pumping from the municipality of Oropos.
A man is missing in Evia
The Fire Brigade has been alerted to locate a male walker in Evia, specifically on Mount Dirfis. According to the Fire Department, the walker lost his orientation in his attempt to reach the shelter in Dirfys and contacted the fire department to locate him, however communication with him is difficult. Forces were immediately mobilized that have already located his vehicle and are currently looking for the walker.

It is noted that due to the emergency bulletin of the deterioration of the weather issued by EMY, the General Secretariat of Civil Protection had recommended to the citizens to be especially careful taking care of self-protection measures from the dangers arising from the occurrence of severe weather phenomena.
In particular, in areas where the occurrence of heavy rainfall, storms or stormy winds is forecast, GGP recommends to the citizens:
• Insure items that, if swept away by severe weather, could cause damage or injury.
• Make sure that the gutters and gutters of the houses are not blocked and are operating normally.
• Avoid crossing torrents and streams, on foot or by vehicle, during storms and rainfall, but also for several hours after the end of their event
• Avoid field work and activities in the sea and coastal areas during severe weather events (risk of lightning strikes).
• Take immediate precautions during a hailstorm. Take refuge in a building or car and do not leave the safe area until they are sure that the storm is over. Hail can also be very dangerous for animals.
• Avoid passing under large trees, under hanging signs and generally in areas where light objects (eg pots, broken glass, etc.) may come off and fall to the ground (eg under balconies). ).
• To faithfully follow the instructions of the locally competent bodies, such as Traffic, etc.
The General Secretariat for Civil Protection (www.civilprotection.gr) of the Ministry of Climate Crisis & Civil Protection, has informed the competent state services involved, as well as the regions and municipalities of the country, in order to be on increased alert for civil protection, in order to deal immediately with the effects of severe weather.
