Nea Ionia: A 33-year-old man was arrested for 11 robberies and 13 thefts

A 33-year-old man was arrested in Nea Ionia, by police officers of the Security Sub-Directorate of Northeastern Attica, on charges of serial robbery, theft of two-wheelers, threatening, insulting and violating the law on weapons and addictive substances.

According to EL.AS, the 33-year-old, at least since the end of last April, he robbed kiosks and stole motorcyclesin various areas of Attica.

In particular, they have been investigated 11 robberies and 13 thefts.

As for the course of action, the accused was driving near kiosks, where he was watching his would-be victims. He then approached them on foot, with his face covered, while holding a food dispenser bag. With the threat of an improvised weapon that he had made, he was taking away the proceeds, while a characteristic of his action was the fact that he chose only women as his victims.

The accused used motorcycles which he stole, while after committing the robberies, he abandoned them.

During a police search of his home, they found and confiscated clothing he was wearing during the robberies and thefts, 2 motorcycle helmets and an improvised weapon model.

The arrested person was taken to the Athens Public Prosecutor’s Office.
