An attempt to deceive vaccine deniers in Greece with interesting extensions and conclusions is mentioned in an article by the well-known Slovenian philosopher Slavoj ίζiκek in The New Zurich Times with Title. “The deceived swindlers”. It refers to articles in some Greek newspapers:
“A few weeks ago, the Greek media reported on the revelation of a case, which involved 100,000 deniers and 200 to 300 doctors and nurses. The deniers paid 400 euros to get a vaccine with a harmless saline solution instead of the regular vaccine. The doctors, however, deceived them by making them a real vaccine, but keeping the ‘sachet’. On the one hand, they acted morally, but on the other hand, they were bribed.
An attempt at deception for the vaccinators took an interesting turn. They thought they were fooling the system. However, they found that they experienced the same side effects as those who received the regular vaccine. And they were not able to explain how they got there since they were sure they had a ‘monkey’ vaccine.
“Even if I condemn the fraud on the part of the doctors,” continues Slavoj Zizek, “I can not be particularly strict with them. When they issued a vaccination certificate they were completely correct. Only those who wanted to fool the system and secure the benefits of those who were vaccinated without being vaccinated were deceived. “They did not imagine that in the end it really was what they just wanted it to look like: Vaccinated!”
SZ: “We hesitated a lot”
On the occasion of the public debate on compulsory universal vaccination in Germany according to the Austrian model, the Süddeutsche Zeitung comments under the headline “We have been quite hesitant”: “Compulsory vaccination is undoubtedly an effective measure, but it is legally and ethically justified. In Germany, too, many people remain unvaccinated, endangering themselves and others’ lives while pushing the health system to its limits. However, new restrictive measures apply to those who are not vaccinated in the L .nder of Saxony and Bavaria. Closing bars, clubs and Christmas markets is not enough. If such a large number of people continue to say no to the vaccine, we will not avoid a compulsory vaccination. The authorities will have no other choice, as valuable time has already been lost. The longer we delay, the more drastic the measures that will have to be taken in the end “.
For her part Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung expresses concern in a front-page comment on violent demonstrations in Germany, as has been the case in recent days in the Netherlands and Austria: are measures of oppression. Arguments do not help here. In this case, the only thing a rule of law can do is to prevent, as best it can, negative developments. But regardless of the extremists, it is crucial for the majority of citizens to understand and accept the necessity of the measures. Spasmodic measures at the worst possible moment, such as the announcement of the Minister of Health Span that he puts a ceiling on the supply of vaccines of BioNTech do not contribute in this direction “.
