A new supplementary CAP, totaling 110 million euros for municipalities and regions, as well as 7 million euros for school heating costs, was approved by Deputy Interior Minister Stelios Petsas.
The € 100 million relates to the new emergency grant to municipalities to meet their current needs and increased liabilities, in terms of their operating costs, the implementation of projects and investment activities, as well as the repayment of overdue or outstanding liabilities. The decision provides the details regarding the distribution and is added to the additional K.A.P. of EUR 107 million, issued in mid-October. The other € 10 million is emergency financial assistance to the regions to cover their operating costs as well.
“Having restored the credibility of our country and the confidence in our national economy, in consultation with the financial staff, we are able to meet the needs of the Local Government and support society,” said the Deputy Minister of Interior and added: “We provide the necessary resources and we stand by the municipalities and regions of the country, helping them, in practice, to be able to carry out their work.
At the same time, we listen to the emergencies that arise as a result of the crisis introduced by the appreciation of energy costs and we coordinate our actions, to be next to our students and teachers. And this we will continue to do for all citizens, in every corner of our country. “
