The prime minister attended a dinner on Tuesday night on the challenges facing Europe today and the global role of the European Union in the landscape that has emerged since the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
Kyriakos Mitsotakis, together with the President of the European Central Bank Christine Lagarde and the Prime Minister of Spain Pedro Sanchez, answered the three main, introductory questions that were asked.
Kyriakos Mitsotakis was asked to answer the question: “Mr Prime Minister, you have embraced the green agenda as one of the central pillars of your government program, setting an example of responsible leadership in the region. “To achieve its climate goals. In this new global context, how can Europe remain a global model of responsible leadership?”
In his statement, Kyriakos Mitsotakis noted that the green transition and the implementation of the green agenda are a great opportunity for Europe. In the short term, the problems posed to citizens by the global energy crisis must be tackled at the same time.
The Prime Minister pointed out that the government has from the beginning placed green policies at the heart of its agenda, guided on the one hand by tackling the climate crisis and on the other by the tangible benefits for the citizens, while listing actions that have been taken in this direction.
Kyriakos Mitsotakis He also stressed the geostrategic importance of Greece in the energy map of Europe, pointing out that our country implements and launches strategic investments for the expansion and upgrade of its infrastructure, in order to be a gateway for the inflow of energy to Europe and the EU.
