The British Ministry of Defense notes in its latest report on military developments in Ukraine that the Russian The air force, known as the VDV, has been “heavily involved in several notable tactical failures” since the start of the war.

Listing these failures, the British Ministry cites as an example the attempt to advance in Kyiv through the Hostomel airport in March, the freezing of the advance on the Izium axis from April and the recent failed and costly attempt to cross the river.

The ministry points out that the Russian dogma provides for the assignment of some of the most demanding companies to VDV, which consists of 45,000 staff members, mainly professional soldiers with a contract.

Members of this force are considered the elite of the armed forces and have an additional remuneration.

However, in Ukraine they have been deployed in missions, which would be more suitable for heavier armored infantry forces, resulting in heavy losses.

“VDV’s mixed performance probably reflects a strategic mismanagement of its capabilities and its failure Russia to ensure superiority in the ethers “concludes the information from London.
