Karamanlis: The works for Line 4 of the Metro have started (video)

The works for Line 4 of the Athens Metro have started, as the Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Costas Karamanlis announced via Twitter.

The post of the minister is accompanied by a video in which the projects and the stations that will be constructed are recorded.

According to Mr. Karamanlis, “in the summer we signed the contract for the construction of the largest public project that will take place in our country in the coming years and its implementation has already begun. The new line, 13km long, changes the transport map of the capital, as it includes 15 new stations that will serve some of the most densely populated areas of Athens and will be connected to the existing Metro lines through two response stations. With vision and perseverance we continue the implementation of our plan for the reform of infrastructure throughout the country “.

Line 4, “U” shape, consists of 2 radially shaped legs, towards Galatsi and Maroussi, and a central section passing through the center of Athens, has a total length of 38.2 km, includes a total of 35 stations and consists of five distinct sections A, B, C, D and E:

• Section A: Veikou-Goudi Grove (12.8 km long and 15 stations)
• Section B: Goudi-Maroussi (9.6 km long and 8 stations)
• Section C: Evangelismos-Ano Ilioupoli (length 4.1 km and 3 stations)
• Section D: Veikou Grove-Petersburg (7.5 km long and 6 stations)
• Section E: Maroussi-National Road (4.4 km long and 3 stations)
