The Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis participated in the work of the Congress of the European People’s Party that is taking place in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, on Tuesday night.

During the work, Manfred Weber was elected the new president of the EPP and the candidacy of the current special adviser to the prime minister for European affairs, based in Brussels, Thanassis Bacola, was announced for the position of the general secretary of the EPP. Voting for the election of the new Secretary General will take place tomorrow, Wednesday 1 June.

During the Congress of the European People’s Party, the Prime Minister had successive bilateral meetings with the President of the Republic of Moldova Maia Santou, the Prime Minister of Morocco Aziz Akanuh and the President of the People’s Party of Spain Alberto Feiho.

The Greek side was represented by the Minister of Environment and Energy Costas Skrekas, the Deputy Foreign Minister Miltiadis Varvitsiotis, the Secretary of International Relations of ND and Member of Parliament for Serres, Tassos Hadjivassiliou and the Director General. Maria Boura.
