Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoλουlu and Austrian Foreign Minister Alexander Salenberg will also attend the forum.
The future of Northern Macedonia, the future of the Western Balkans is in the European Union, said Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias, upon his arrival in Ohrid for the Prespa Dialogue Forum taking place today and tomorrow.
Mr. Dendias stated: “I am in Ohrid today, at the Prespa Forum Dialogue”, to reiterate a firm principle of Greek foreign policy: that the future of Northern Macedonia, the future of the Western Balkans is in the European Union, in European values , in the common area of law and protection of human rights.
And what must, with great effort, be repelled, are any influences of factors that would like to lead this region in another, different direction. A direction different from the EU, international law, European values.
- Live the discussion at the Prespa Dialogue Forum on “Shaping the future of the Western Balkans in the context of Modern European Security Architecture – (Shaping Western Balkans Future in the Contemporary European Security Architecture)”, with the participation of Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias.
The second “Prespa Dialogue Forum” (Prespa Forum Dialogue) takes place today and tomorrow at Ohrid.
This year the forum will examine the political and economic issues facing Europe and the Western Balkans today, as well as pressing security issues, with particular emphasis on effects of the Ukraine war the overall international security policy and the economic situation in Europe and beyond.
The conference is organized the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Northern Macedonia and is under the auspices of the President of the country.
In this year’s “Prespa Forum Dialogue” participate, among others, the President of the European Council, Charles Michelthe Presidents of Croatiaτης Sloveniaτου Montenegroτου Kosovo and her Northern Macedoniaas well as prime ministers of Serbia and his Kosovo.
The forum will also be attended by Deputy Secretary-General of the United Nations responsible for political affairs, Rosemary Di Carlothe OSCE Secretary General Helga Schmidtas foreign ministers of several countries.
On the sidelines of the forum, the Greek Foreign Minister is expected to hold brief bilateral meetings by EU Special Representative for the Belgrade-Pristina Dialogue, Miroslav Lajτσακk as well as with UN Under-Secretary-General for Political Affairs Rosemary DiCarlo.
The forum will also be attended by Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoλουlu and her Austria, Alexander Salenberg.
THE Minister of Foreign Affairs of Northern Macedonia Bouyar Osmani has said that after last year ‘s first successful event, the “Prespa Forum Dialogue” is evolving into the largest diplomatic – political forum in the Western Balkans and has entered the list of the most recognized political – diplomatic platforms, where issues related to today are discussed.
